I like to watch the 27 yard scores to see how a shoot is going. They have completed five handicap events at the current shoot and I can only find two 98's and six 97's shot by 27 yard shooters. I seem to remember much better scores in the past. What's up? Did they switch to Federal Targets or did they already start shooting South? I was planning on attending their next state shoot, but will not if the scores start sucking there.

The 27 yard shooters are laying back and chumming for the bigger shoots in the future .. This proves anybody can have a bad day, not usually all at the same time ... You might of knocked 'em dead ... WPT ... (YAC) ...

I thought the weather was pretty darn good for August in Ohio. Tuesday was a bit sketchy with some rain for Prelims, but temps in the low to mid 80's with a nice breeze and low humidity for the remainder of the week (with the exception of today (Sunday)). A bit sweaty on the line at times but much better conditions than I would deem 'typical' for this time of year. If it's any consolation I also shot like crap on all handicap events albeit from shorter yardage, but scored above average on singles.

Its the targets they were high and very low, Which makes it tough on long yardage.

Roger - we did have a tail wind most of the week, perhaps that is what you are referring to and likely why the targets were low as Robert mentioned.

A friend called me and said the targets were squirely. On doubles you could get a high right bird and a low left. There was not much consistency in the presentation When you start wondering where the targets will be you are not in a good position to break them. Roger C..

The 27 yarders faired well on the last handicap. 16 shooters earned yardage, 12 of which were already 27 yarders!

The Wind Was Mainly Out Of The West SouthWest. North Facing Traps. That Means High Left Angle Targets And Low Right Angle Targets. That's What The Wind Does. Are These People New Shooters Or What?

Chris Vendel with a 98 from the 27 tied my kid who shot from the 19. Nice mix of winners. I'd say the targets looked on the lower side but when checked were on the money. A bit of a breeze I'd say having an effect on targets. Banks 5-6 were very popular.

The shoot wasn't that great because a 27 yard shooter didn't break 100 in any of the caps events.

I know I haven't shot a registered target for a while but, REALLY?

I heard from the grape vine that the targets were set soft and low until last day when they had a little more spring.

Brad, I watched them reset one of our traps and the radar gun said 40mph and they were very soft targets.
