Sorry to say guys, I was only able to shoot 10 Targets before left shoulder Tendons gave up on the weight of my gun, I gave away $65.00 for targets and the Lewis Class. I had hi hopes of being able to shoot the 100 Hdcp Targets, talked to a lot of friends, and thanks to the Guys on Bank 2 for the help getting me on the line w/gun, shells, and Stool, and them back to my car after 10shots
I feel the Rain most of the week held down Participation. Who the Hell wants to get soaked and get their gun wet.
I traded the Ljutic for one of the CZ Combos advertised in the Program, no release trigger now..

I got to talk to Brad Dysinger, and George Snellenberger, and discussed some old times, and eye health problems w/Cataracts
They did a 2 cases test of Targets @ 135 each and weighed every target, The Variations were to the extreme heavy side , was told only 10% were in the correct weight zone, that explained the targets that did not fly to specs. White Flyer has some Target problems.

The shot curtains really helped in Target Recognition, I feel the ALL ORANGE would be better than the Black Rim Targets that were thrown, that is my personal View, and Possibly the All Green Targets, how do you shooters feel about that?
The shot was hitting between the 2nd and 3rd Curtains, I did see a few High Flying Targets go over the Curtains
The Pot Holes were Really bad on the road between the Paved road and the vendors. REALLY, REALLY BAD. THE PAVED ROAD WAS ABOUT 1 1/2 CARS WIDE, NOT A FULL 2 LANES.

Road dust was very bad, parking lot could stand being Oiled again.

I saw another interesting observation, Fiochi Hdcp shells at 1 1/8th oz 7 1/2s @ 1290 fps, Walmart had Estates in the 4 packs of shells at Super Sport @ 1250 fps @ $21.67. 1 1/8th oz 7 1/2s, at the Athens Store and I bought 1 pack of them.

I didnt see any black rims being thrown on the west end and I got to see more than I wanted hit the ground.

 

They were throwing the New York Style of target, Orange dome/Black Ring, on all traps.

They looked all orange to me also. I shot on Wednesday and Friday. bank 2 everytime. Maybe My eyes are getting Bad.

All orange targets, all the time. There were no black ring targets being thrown. They changed it when the shot curtain started going up. It's the only thing in the traphouses now. Spent enough time loading the traps for our youth team practices.

If Phil said orange top.....boxes marked Orange Top are birds where the.... top side... is all orange and the bottom side is black.

 

Imagine if you will, this being a really important discussion that would matter more then life it self ... I have feeling Cardinal Center's intention was to put targets in the air and in reality it would be their choice to put all orange, orange dome, or 3/4 dome targets, 100 each of which ever for the registered shoot to take place ... I cannot see the complexities here, sorry but it has to be me ... 100 Targets, that what you paid for and that's what you'll get ... WPT ... (YAC) ...

WPT lets hold a vote on which targets are preferred in the future against the SHOT CURTAINS, Full Orange Dome, GREENDOME, or New York Style Orange Dome w/Black Rim., The Face of the Targets were not SEEN, they were Flat.
I liked the shot curtains, the shot was hitting between the 2nd & 3rd Row of the Curtains, you could hear the shot hit the Curtains.

It is my opinion that it is up to the club management to display which ever targets they want, not those who come there for the day and leave long before others days are done ... WPT ... (YAC) ...

 

Stoopid question here, but is it possible different targets were thrown on different days relative to all orange and 3/4 / New York style? I shot every day Tuesday - Saturday and swear they were all orange from banks 4, 11, 12, 10. My eyes are pretty good but my memory, maybe not. Different targets on different days and events would be taboo, yes?

 

I thought they announced darker less bright targets would be thrown on 5 and 6.

 

If we are talking about orange top as in the entirety of the clay that is visible when it leaves the trap, then yes that was what they were throwing all week from all traps. The underside of the targets that nobody sees when they leave the trap are black.

Our cardinal youth team held another practice again last night and we had to load the trap machine half way through, and the entire pallet of targets in the house were what I consider all orange, relative to the NY style black rim or 3/4 style from Shotshell's photo which the CC threw prior to the curtain.

 

I wasn't there but I was told the Ohio State Association picks the color targets for the State Shoot, the Cardinal Center Management picks the targets for all other shoots.
