Went to shoot today, the club I was @ was throwing solid orange targets, was wearing a dark pink lens on my Ranger edge glasses--lots of white clouds above the green tree line--when the target hit the white clouds it was washed out looked like a creamsicle where the orange ice melted into vanilla ice cream

What color lens is good for this situation

I like Decot's target orange lm. everybody's eyes are different. if you go to a big shoot such as the ohio state shoot stop by a dealer on a cloudy day and see what color lense your eyes prefer.

I used to be a Decot dealer, have 15 pairs of lenses so I can usually find something that works depending on light conditions ... The Hi Def Specs lenses are better for driving than they are for shooting ... WPT ... (YAC) ...

I like the vermilion lenses. Makes the orange targets stand out bigtime.

    Phil,

Appears that either of the Purple lenses would possibly work for you.

People's eyes see things differently, but these suggestions are to help you go in the right direction.

Just got off the phone with Wayne, next time I'm @ the club I try my purples-- everyone's eyes are different--really hate solid orange targets--if the club members & mgt weren't so nice-I doubt I would continue to shoot there--very difficult conditions, nuff said & I will not mention the club

In my opinion nothing works good when an all orange target hits the sky.

I prefer the 3/4 (N.Y. style) in just about all conditions. All tree, tree into sky or all sky background.

I don't know if there is a perfect color being as most people see color differently hence the assortment of colors for the lenses ... When I was a dealer I used to let people try a color or two before they bought them so long as they fit their frames right ... The outdoor lighting conditions can change or appear to change the color of the targets in extreme circumstances ... I was told that the hi Def Specs were the way to go and for driving I agree whole totally, but not for shooting ... The Polorized lenses to seem to eliminate glare so I have a couple pairs of those ... I suggest getting an assortment of colors that work for you and live with them ... I have a pair of clear and very slight yellow for night shooting ... WPT ... (YAC) ...
