Ok, I'm still pretty new and fresh at this trap game... but I feel like I'm getting there. I've run through about 7 BT99 and 100's, settled on loving the 100 with the higher rib. I think I am definitely improving my game... last night I warmed up the BT100 with a 17 1st round, 22 second round, finished up with another 22 on the Wobble setting! had similar numbers sunday as well.. also shot a round of doubles sunday.... did ok, considering, I used my CXT O\U for the doubles round . The thing is I prefer the higher rib of the BT 100... so I been looking around for options in other guns. I settled with a choice last night after weeks of research. I just hope it isn't like my 1st choice when I purchased a low rib gun, not realizing the high rib fits me better.

I'll keep this part short and sweet. I just ordered a new Browning 725 unsingle combo ... It has all the adjustment anyone should need, a 34" single and 32" double. Gracoil system, adj. comb, adj. rib etc.. now I should have one gun for whatever type of clays I choose to shoot.. my question is any info or experience out there with this gun, please share .. thank you

Google "Barthelow Brothers", see where they have taken Browning … WPT … (YAC) …

I love my 725 Trap. The adjustable comb makes for a much better fit than my CX which has given me a more consistent cheek fit, and affords a more upright stance and better view of the field. Only about 3500 rounds through it thus far so I am still breaking it in, but so far so good.
I did get to shoot this gun a few times prior to purchase which definitely sealed the deal for me. Hopefully you have had a chance to shoot a 725 so you know how the gun fits, feels and shoots since you dropped the cash on it; you likely don't want to run through 7 more guns before you find the one that is right for you.
Congratulations on your new 725 - hopefully you enjoy yours as much as I am enjoying mine!

I'm guilty of not shooting this one ….. I shouldered several, but that was all I got. What I have learned first off, I like the higher rib, I seem to see better. Being a one eyed shooter at this point my field of vision is already limited..

Bought to soon - I am waiting for the 725 trap max combo with adjustable ribs on both the unsingle and the double barrel.

Don't worry too much about it. There are always plenty of guns out there on my wish list and I could drive myself crazy chasing down all of them, or even one more. New models only add to the dream pile. I have a low budget and on most days still kind of like the wife around, so I am reminding myself on a regular basis how fortunate I am to have the 725 and continue to focus on working with it until it is a true extension of me and I am 'One With The Gun'. Not too tough as I mentioned previously, I love this gun and it fits me well. As you mentioned, your combo has, "all the adjustment anyone should need" so get that sucker dialed in, run as many rounds through it as you can, and enjoy!

Thank you Shotshell… I needed that! I had settled in on my BT100.. it felt great from the 1st time I shouldered it. Working on selling the others now. But with the rebate from Browning.. I tried to not let it get in my head.. but, couldn't help but think if I didn't do it now I'd lose the $400 discount.. When I sell the other BT100 blued and the BT99 Golden Clay, that'll wash the purchase. I just sold one of my pre ban Colt AR9mm carbines today, $2000, so that money went on the card...I've been playing musical guns by selling some of my other guns.. to purchase the trap guns..

drum roll guys and gals ..... tomorrow, it'll be at my FFL's.. I am just beside myself with anticipation, excitement and doubt .. yup, afraid it won't be THE GUN .. been looking at pics all week long, and keep going back to that new Max trap, worried that the non adjustable rib on the O\U will not be to my liking .. or that the unsingle rib will not be adjustable enough or high enough for what I am looking for.. Oh well, still have my BT 100..... if you see the BT100 SS go up for sale here.. you'll know it all worked out. And then there is one more hitch in the picture, one of the old timer shooters at my club showed up for the 1st time since the fall, sunday.. he shoots a Berretta 692X, I shouldered it and reeeeeally liked it.. to make it more complicated, I know of that exact model for sale locally, like brandy new for $3500.. 200 rounds through it. I should have been born into money... I just like too many guns.. I never knew there were so many variations of these kind of guns. Perrazzi's, Kreighoffs, Lijudik, CG...etc.etc..

DONE DEAL... IT'S HERE AND IN MY POSSESSION.... looks great, shoulders good, need a few tweaks and I'm ready to go to the range tonite.. Great shipping, awesome to deal with GU, dealt with Dick. To my surprise, it came with a beautiful Browning hard case... To say I'm tickled pink is an understatement.. not feeling uneasy anymore... :D

OMG !!!! Is there such a thing as a magic gun ………… If there is, I think it found me!! Ok, to sum it up 22,21, ……...24!!!!! best numbers ever for me!!! I think this is going to work.. Let me just say.. I didn't get a chance to pattern it... put the unsingle barrel on, after a quick inspection and lube, shouldered it, needs a little tweaking of the stock and maybe the rib. Proceeded to miss the 1st 3 shorts.... then smoked em the rest of the way! 21 the second round .. just missed a few, lost my concentration.. but again, was smoking the birds.. 3rd round smoked em all cept #8 … I had one of my hiccups.. to sum it up, its a great gun for me, a few tweaks and I'm looking forward to the summer. As for the gun, I think it's a great deal for $4900. Comes with 5 chokes, 2 sets of colored replacement front sight tubes. 3 ! different triggers.. and to top it off, a beautiful Browning hard case!! If your on the fence, don't be afraid of this gun if you are wanting a new gun to cover all the sporting clays.

It's going to take a new, 5-figure K- or P- gun to get you that last 1 or 2 birds....you know that, don't you?

:D It's mind over matter at this point. I shot 19,20,19 yesterday... I can tell you every one I missed was me jerking the gun, like I was startled when I saw the direction of the bird and I had the herky jerky motion to get to it.. when I move to the bird smoothly .. I destroy it ever time.. Gots to keep working at it ...... But that's not to say ... if the deal was right for a K gun, I would jump on it. I almost pulled the trigger on a KS5, but after dong a little more research, I would want a KX model. Bottom line is, if I don't get better control of my pick up and movement to the bird, a 6 digit gun ain't gonna help.. :)

Oh ya, one more point concerning my shooting yesterday ... It was drizzling on and off, I'm a one eyed shooter wearing glasses and they kept getting fogged up and water drops on them. When I missed a couple, I took them off and cleaned them... then same thing happened over and over several times. I kept trying to shoot through it, didn't want to disrupt everyones timing.. that didn't help my scores.. I hate excuses..

I've been told by a reliable source that it takes around 5000 rounds to get totally dialed in on a new gun. Keep at it and enjoy the journey.
