Big motel at the Cardinal Center - Guess who?

I have been sitting on this for a while. Waiting for the dust to settle on the last story. A large motel is soon to be sitting beside the Cardinal Center.

I voted for the Sparta Inn & Suites, They are probably following the SCTP. Also the drive from Cardinal isn't that much farther than shooters have to drive at Sparta to get to the grand now so it will be handy for both places.

Merlo have you checked with Sparta Sid about this? I would like to hear from the stooges. Maybe the target claimer will have the real skinny, I'd like to be a fly on the wall when the EC talks about the fantastic direction Sparta is headed for.

What were the hotel chains that were going to spring up around the World Shooting Center? I know I remember reading about that build it and they will come someplace in sometime in the dark past. Brad

I've also heard talk that the Marathon station across the street is going to be expanded into a truck stop. That interchange from I-71 to St. Rt. 61 will need to be expanded.

Great, let me get this straight. You couldn't get the kids back, you didn't know about the contract for like the next ten years, you didn't know about the possible expansion of the Skeet, Trap, and Bunker facilities, and you didn't know about this new hotel or motel.
That about cover it so far?

Jim from Canton. I only report, but on a poll there can be misleading options. The Heritage Inn was the first motel in the area to offer a huge break just for trapshooters. (29.95 trapshooter special). Who wouldn’t stay at a Cardinal Inn or Homestead Suites? And why would a major chain locate there?

My sources in the trenches are insisting I not disclose the name yet. Soon!

The ATA does not get it, the place (WSRC) in Illinois was and is a mistake nothing is going to change that but the ED, EC, and many of the BOD would never admit to making a mistake then compounding it by staying there for many years ... The WSRC was an act of desperation rather than not have a beloved grand for a year or two and give the ATA a chance to make the right move ... Free targets, Limo service, camping on the grounds, is not going to change what has been established over the past 12-14 years ... The best the ATA can hope for is the attendance does not continue dropping off until its not worth attending any long for those that do ... Most people I talk to would not go there if they got paid to be there and they could keep all the shit you could steal (ex: ED, EC, many on the BOD) ... WPT ... (YAC) ...

 

The WSRC was also an act of incompetence, an act of disloyalty to the members and an act of we know what's best for the ATA..

 

Garry, It was also the dumbest move that could have been made. To many had their eyes on self gratifacation to do what was best for the organization and its members. Roger C.
