Is Herco an orphan?

I recently bought some Herco powder, the Alliant manual has loading information for an 1-1/8 load, but I have not seen any data on it as far as patterns, or any mention of it in any capacity. My thinking is that Green Dot, being so a slower powder, that Herco would be even better, in that it is the slowest. What might I expect from it? .....Just some mid-winter musings from my loading bench.

Fairly dirty in ATA legal loads. Seems to work very well as far as smoking the target. Need to use quite a bit.

Herco is a great caps powder. Don't be afraid to use three tablespoons, and keep speeds at 1250 or better. The Windjammer wad with Herco does spectacular things to targets a long way off.

Herco is hands down one of the best powders made. There has been more Calcutta’s won with it then any other. I dump the pepper out of the shaker and put Herco in it. Like Franks I put that $hit on everything.

I load Herco in 20 ga Riefenhauser hulls for tube guns May be the best powder for these hulls. Lower pressure, easy on everything except the target. Also, a better powder in the 28 than Unique. Same deal, lower pressures, a beast on targets.

With the right hulls and wads, 10 to 28 ga, works well.

Remington Herco 1 1/8th oz loads @1250 fps CCI-209M Primer 24.4 grs @8800psi need a hotter Primer to Light it off
    24.5 grs 9800psi RXP wad
    25.0 grs 9400psi Windjammer
When you load the AA hull it goes to 1425Fps same amount of Herco 24.5 grs same wads RXP-Windjammer

Federal Gold Medals Versalite Wad Fed 209A Primer 26 grs Herco 8200 psi 1200fps
    " " " RXP " " " " " 8000 psi "
    Windjammer 7400 psi "
    Win AA 8300 psi "
All it does is add to powder cost, lower Pressures, tighter Patterns
I like it in Top Gun Hulls same results w/Herco
