Been a ride, but thanks to the help from many here and elsewhere, I hit my 1st 25 last night! A little surprised by the way I did it, but none the less .... we did it! Loving my new Browning 725 unsingle combo, shot 4 rounds with unsingle, 18,24,23,22 .. was ready to cash in, when another shooter needed to shoot one more round, so I said, what the heck, I'll try the O\U barrel ... just to try it out...... daaaaamn ...... shot a 25!! Needless to say, I was a happy camper.

So thanks to you all for all the technical help and support, cause without this board and others.. no way I'd be where I'm at today. A special thanks to George ...

Better? I wouldn't go that far.;) I couldn't tell you where I broke the first 25. Probably practice or some league shoot on a week night.
I CAN tell you the girls first and last name, her hair and eye color and the exact house where the 8th grade party was held.

The way some of these young kids shoot today I would bet they get the 25 straight first.

Then comes the first kiss. Then the drivers license. And when they find out that those two go together rather nicely the 25 straights don't mean much.

Congrats Turbo, glad you got the first one under your belt.

It is great that George is here and willing/able to help ......

There may be other shooters that could benefit from the conversations if they were not via PM .....

Again, Congrats and best of luck shooting many more 25's ..... they make 50's,75's, 100's, and 200's when you put them together .....

Good shooting, I still remember my first 25 straight over 45 years ago. Now that you know how to do it they will start coming more often. Brad

I'm foaming at the mouth to shoot this morning... seems like it's been forever since I shot.

Do I have to tell ya ,...… It was fun 20, 22, ……………………………………………………..14, 19 … :D:D WE had fun though. Once again, I am convinced of how important repetition, consistency and focus are. I seem to start off slow and each round I get better. I went with the O\U barrel after shooting the 25 Thursday, I like it a lot, after the 1st 2 rounds I decided to get back on the unsingle …… hence the 14... it felt like I was in the twilight zone from the 1st shot. The 34" barrel seemed like it was 44" and the Sight Blinder I installed at the end of the barrel seemed to mess with seeing the front sight compared to the clarity I had on the O\U. So, out with the heat gun this morning, going to remove it. Also I had been using a patch on my left eyeglass lens, forgot it, so I just closed my eye. Good round or bad round, I try to assess what changed. The 19 …. well it was a fun round with another veteran shooter, he was packing up and we needed one more shooter on the line, so I threw out a challenge and a box of shells at him, he came back. I changed my barrel again to the O\U and proceeded to miss my 1st 4 shots before getting back on the birds.... All in all, I was disappointed with my morning …. but the bottom line, it was fun. So on to tonight, if the rain holds off, I go at it again. My big decision, do I shoot the unsingle or go with the O\U...…. I'm going back to the unsingle without the Sight Blinder.

    Turbo,

I tried all sorts of gimmicks to eliminate my no dominate eye problem.

A Canadian friend, Bill Wylie, suggested I try a magic dot on my left lens, he gave me one that day, and it has been all up hill from that day on over 20 years.

I was amazed at how it improved my scores.

I now just use a small piece of Scotch tape on the lens to block out the bead yet can I see all around it for the peripheral vision.

Good luck, and have FUN !

If you would have told me that you were going to close one eye (and lose your depth perception), change guns a couple of times, and take off an accessory that you were trying to get used to, I wouldn't have asked.

    Hang in there.

If you can't get a hit get a different bat, if that don't work get different balls … WPT … (YAC) …

foaming at the mouth for 5pm ... I'm already planning my strategies ... get back to square one .. Dtech glasses, patch on left eye, unsingle barrel. I won't whine about the stiff neck I had for the last 2 days.... but I know for sure it affects me mounting the gun. I'll make the gametime decision on whether it's good enough to shoot... putting on Salonpas patches ... seems to have greatly helped today..

Not a bad night.. only 2 of us showed up, … light rain … good thing I had the wife with me, she pushed the button and scored.. I feel like I'm back on the bird. 20,21,22 … mostly all good breaks, 10 out of 12 misses were to the right.. no doubt that's my weak one. Going up to the club as soon as I can and going to set the machine to the right and go through a couple of boxes... The unsingle felt great. Now if it doesn't rain tomorrow night, I'll shoot at another club..
