Must be some defectors from Ohio come to give Sparta a try...

Disappointing isn't it? All the thought you put into that gem of a post and,
    Not even a little nibble!

Don't give up,keep trying, these are the posts that I love to see. Maybe next time a more subtle bait, something different than that bigazz rattling crank bait you just tried.

Little NJ had 194 Singles entries on Saturday. Big, bad Sparta had less than 500. I'd call NJ the winner based on actual facility usage.

    John Doe,

There were zero defectors from Ohio. If you look at the championship events for singles, doubles and caps, there were zero shooters from Ohio. Most of the shooters were from Illinois.

To save people the trouble, my addition, which I think is about right, leads me to conclude that

    1. The Buckeye was down about 10% compared to the year before and

    2. The US Open was up about 25% compared to the year before.

I thought the post on the other thread gave a more accurate story. About 200 shooters per event at Sparta. Bacon shoot in my part of OH. The other shoot in Sparta just sucked less than before.

I just did the figures overall it was down 54 shooters avg, over last year, Down about 5 % it was the weather forecasters predicting RAIN BEING HEAVY THE LAST $ days of the shoot, normal long distance shooters chose not to come due to the Storm Alberto Rain Showers. Some of my long distance buddies did not want to shoot in the RAIN.

Weather is a determining factor to shooters.

Gary, you'd better watch out! Calling entries "shooters" will completely freak out FG and ST - and oh yes, Fab, he's just totally bonkers about the confusion of shooters vs entries, watch out for him! - and you will never hear the end of it. You can only don your sackcloth and ashes and prostrate yourself at their feet and humbly beg for forgiveness but they will insist that you never did and just keep endlessly harping on it so it's probably pointless. They won't sleep for days stewing about your carelessness, but I think of it as their problem, not mine, and suggest you just shrug it off as I have.

However, when I add up the ENTRIES in the 2017 Buckeye Classic, I get a total of 5252.

and when I add up the ENTRIES in the 2018 Buckeye Classic, I get a total of 4686.

When my treasured HP32S subtracts 4686 from 5252 it tells me the difference is, as you say, about 56 shooters per event.

    But when I divide 4686 by 5252 I don't get "about 5%" as you wrote; I get a difference of 10.78%.

I believe there are several factors that cause this shoot to be down. First was definitely the weather. Several shooters they weren't entering various events because of the potential for rain during an event that they wanted to shoot. Secondly,
when you have 3 big shoots (Karen's Cup, Buckeye and the Ohio State Trap Shoot) that close not all shooters can attend all of them many still have to work and cannot get time away from work.

Mark, weren't the 3 big shoots also held that close together during 2017?

Will that HP32S help you compute the balance in your checking account after you pay the $50.00 you lost?

Sounds like you shrugged off paying too.

The first time Obama won it cost me $100.00. And not to some organization but to a guy on that other site. A union worker democrat that thought Obama was going to make everything better. And this guy was a member at one of the local clubs.
I made a bet that Obama wouldn't and he did. I showed up at the club the next day and PAID the guy with a nice crisp C note.

A lot of the guys thought the guy was a no good SOB for taking my money. They said he should have just said, that's OK, I don't want your money, keep it. I wouldn't have kept it anyway but this guy just took it and walked on. So be it, win some lose some.

I told them that the only no good SOB would have been me if I welched on the bet.

Some people said I should have told him I was kidding, or didn't mean it, or I meant to say something else so I didn't have to pay him. I said I might not be the smartest guy in the room but when I'm making a bet I sure as hell know the words I'm using.

Ya think that no good SOB would have welched if he LOST the bet? Yeah,me too.

N1H1: The CC shoot is called the Buckeye Open, But when the Sparta says PRESQUADDING is up 38 % from last year, that is not entries, Paid Enties is the determination Factor, I yield it was down 10%, It was strictly the rain, by weather forecasters.

The US open would be up 10% if just one car load of shooters stopped to shoot.

Bob, Brad must be grinning about your post. Was it a smart car carload that you were referring to? LOL

Its pretty sad when the two trap clubs around me draw as many shooters and the US OPEN.
