New Upate on WPT

WPT Just called me w/update to pass along, He has been in the Hospital a week and a Half. He is eating/drinking a liquids. He is having some ,problems with the surgery, Keep Prayers Coming He Needs Them. This was the first Phone call He has made since going into Hospital.

My Prayers are being sent Daily.

Just received message from WPT, Whiz he says your right, his surgeon is at Abrazzo, he is not resting well with pain and has no Appetite,
I said prayers for him at church this morning.

Well, he's in very good hands at Abrazzo. Up here we go to the Rochester MN Mayo Clinic.

He just said " pretty much the same, have to go for more tests, Tired and Weak, No Appetite yet, just tresting". 3:11pm 2-10-17

Bill, you hang in there and in due time, hoping you'll take it easy once you get out, you'll win this one. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Not being a religious zealot, I still have you on the church's prayer call.

The good side is that you'll get all new clothes! ;-)

WOW, Really do not know where or how to start ... Sincere Thanks to one and all for your thoughts, prayers, and concerns , I can assure you (everyone)they were (are) all appreciated ... I was told this was going to be a "Piece of Cake" compared to the procedure to repair my colon and do a colostomy, It was not by any means a piece of cake but whats done is done ... This procedure was to remove, replace the colostomy (bag) and hook up my pluming ... I went into the hospital on 02-18-17 for the surgery and have not felt right or well since ... I have found a new meaning to feeling weak, tired, and sick all at one time but only when I am not sleeping which has been for the most part all day and night long ... I'm not sure the good folks at the hospital know how many or why I had so many infections, not to mention Antibiotics in my I V and orally ... I have continued to lose weight (240#, down 60 pounds) and have little to no desire for food ... I do not have much strength but do have appointments with the Doctors to try and see if they can find out what else is the matter or if its just all part of the recovery ... Thank you again one and all I will keep you posted, best I can ... Thank you Gary (GLS) for forwarding my up date ... WPT ... (YAC) ...

Went through a similar episode 12 or 13 years ago....... no bag but a 5 week hospital stay. Only about 6" of colon left. All is well and has been so since about 3 months after surgery..... You will do just fine. Be well, do good things and stay in touch. Larry

 

Good to hear your at least progressing at getting well again------- keep it going, GET WELL SOON

 

You're getting so thin, you'll have to stop TWICE to make a shadow.

Glad you are on the mend. It takes us old timers a bit longer in the healing business, but you'll get there.

Appreciate all of the thoughts, prayers etc, this healing is going way to slow for me, got to go see the Doctor on Tuesday ... I can't believe the level of pain I am still in, got some Meds but don't like that crap ... (GLS) Gary is in the hospital, bleeding ulcer, so if any one wants to contact him , he has his phone with him, had to be air lifted by Medivac Unit ... Thank you all one more time, WPT ... (YAC) ...

 

Boy, I tell you what, gettin' old really ain't for sissies, that's for sure.

Doctor gave me some muscle relaxers, finally got a good nights sleep ... He said all of this discomfort and pain is normal and will pass in time, didn't say how much time ... I am hoping for the best, figure it con't go on for ever ... Thank you all again, Prayers work ... WPT ... (YAC) ...

 

I cannot remember now the name of the medication but the Dr. prescribed something known generally as a "Beta blocker" which was supposed to help with discomfort and pain. I toughed it out for about a week and then told them it was not worth it, quit taking the damn things and the pain and discomfort was gone in a couple days......... Make them explain your medication to you, perhaps they are not helping like they think..... Larry

 

These muscle relaxers are working, two nights sleep in a row ... Woo hoo ... The Doctor said to exercise, but no lifting, limited walking, limited riding the bike, but wants me to eat more ... This to shall pass but in the mean time they say what don't kill you makes you tougher ... WPT ... (YAC) ...

 

Glad to hear the good news wpt. Wishing you a full recovery and glad you are finally getting a good night's sleep.

Thanks HB and everyone else, There have been a lot of surprises with this last procedure that set me back after talking to my Surgeon and his saying this should be a "piece of cake" compared to the previous one ...The Bag is gone so that is a good thing ... So far I guess all is going as it should be based on the conversations with my Doctor, so I will have to rely on my patients ... I guess we never heal as fast as we would like to but you get tired of hearing that you are not as young as you used to be ... (duh) ... WPT ... (YAC) ...

 

Maybe not as young physically but still young at heart, get well, eat and regain some weight.
