Resurrection of the ATA (Part II)

I read the threads about the ATA and what changes need to happen for it to be as it once was with great interest ...

The ATA was established based on Honor, Integrity, Sportsmanship, one for all and all for one type of Association ... Times have changed and not for the betterment of the organization if you look at it and break it down over the years ... The ATA ED, EC, and many on the BOD and CHC have literally stacked the decks against the membership ...

There was a time when each state would vote for its Delegate on a yearly basis and accept the out come on the election ... Terry Dean made up his mind that he was not going to give up his seat as Delegate when he ran for re election and lost (lose the Election) no matter who won ... Ironically, they said it was a TIE,(Split Decision) and Terry was offered alternative means to settle the election out come and validate a Real Winner ... He would not flip coins, or accept a shoot off , he just claimed he won and that was it, no questions asked and or answered ... Terry Dean was not legitimately re elected yet to this day gets to vote on matters that concern the members, if that makes any sense to anyone ... The ATA decided it was a State problem to settle its own elections and the out come of same and they were not going to get involved ... The ATA found reason to appoint Terry Dean to the CHC rather than lose his vote on anything and everything the EC would have on their agenda ... This is not the way the ATA was founded but is the new ATA and the way its been restructured by those elected to protect and assure them they have the votes no matter what the members want ...
Its really funny why all of a sudden the Minutes from the meeting in August have not been posted for the Members to see, kind of makes one wonder whats going on with that ..? WPT ... (YAC) ...

 

We have a VP, Terry Dean, that is not a legit VP? Is this the same person that went on a rant hating this site?

 

Well STAND UP The ATA is a CORPORATION, we are Members/VOTERS, DECLARE A MORATORIUM, all the OFFICERS are Gone, FILE a LIEN on the ATA BANK ACCOUNTS.

Terry Dean not only hates this site, but he has no use for the people on it because they (we) speak the truth ... He knows how much new pick ups cost but not how much certain sponsors kick in to provide funding for the grand ... This is the caliber of people who are involved in running the Association ... There was a time when Members mattered those day are long gone but will never be forgotten ... There is no wonder why the Organization is in deep (%$@#) and cannot keep members , or get the ones they do have to attend its major shoot or what used to be any way ... Maybe location, location, location ... WPT ... (YAC) ...

WPT are you saying the vote was not a tie.

 

I never said it was not a tie, I said it was never settled because Terry Dean would not accept one of multiple ways to decide it one way or the other to finalize the out come ... He was given his choice between a coin flip or shoot off, instead declared him self the winner and it never went beyond that, could of probably had a re vote to settle it but that never came up ... Long Story short Terry Dean could not get re elected so he got placed into a position (CHC) by the ATA to preserve his vote ... Its not what you know, its who you know and B _ _ _ , that matters ... WPT ... (YAC) ...

 

Was there a rule broken or by-law not adhered to. Didn't Terry not seek election a year or two later.

You are OK with someone that could not "win" an election in his state being a VP?

 

I always figured a General (purpose) rule of an Election (understanding) was to find a person to represent the people for what ever the intended purpose ... If a person chooses to run for re election and does not win in one way or another I would probably not harbor much respect for that person or the position he or she holds ... Terry didn't have to seek re election once he was "appointed" the position on the CHC, his vote was then assured ... Election is a simple process, that can get very complicated as we have all witnessed as of late ... Terry Dean did not have enough people willing to put their trust or faith in him (again) to re elect him so he could not and did not win the election out right ... He talks all kind of BS about shooting for the "Love of the Game" but I will bet even money he never turns down a check for expenses etc ... Once a loser, always a loser, no matter what position a person can get appointed to ... WPT ... (YAC) ...

 

What power does the CHC to change the direction of the ATA. If you want to talk about a place that a KY resident has no power to change things , then look at the state assoc.

 

If you cannot make to leap to the CHC then you dont get to be a VP? Is that right? Just trying to follow someone's logic. I think point is that if someone did not qualify to get to CHC then he would not be a VP or future president.

If TD did not win election then how did he get to go up the stairs? Facts only please.

You lost the election, so the ATA needs a Positive Favorable Vote, so they APPOINT him to the CHC, in my opinion the CHC should NOT have a VOTE on ANYTHING

I am not sure the above posts say anyone lost an election. It may should say failed to win.

 

There's no direct link from the CHC to the EC. that I know of, but there may be a line you would need to get in to get to the top.

 

Don't you have to be a sitting delegate to be VP or CHC?

 

VP yes,CHC no, at least that is my understanding.
